Food Service Assistant
Lake Region Healthcare
Casual (Less than 32 hrs every 2 weeks)

Nutrition Services employees at Lake Region Healthcare work in a fun and fast paced environment preparing and serving meals that contribute to the health and well being of our customers. A typical day includes working as part of a team to prepare and deliver room service meals to patients, serve co-workers and visitors in the cafe, and deliver meals to catered meetings on site. You will learn about diet orders and make sure patients' meals match their dietary requirements. You will contribute to a food-safe environment by helping with proper food storage, monitoring food temperatures, restocking supplies, and cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen. Food service assistants have contact with employees, patients and visitors from all walks of life; a smile, the ability to keep confidences, and excellent communication skills are a must. We provide several days of on-the-job training and plenty of ongoing support as you learn the details of your new job.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. ServSafe certification or MN Department of Health Food Manager’s certificate and six (6) months related experience preferred. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately. Ability to interact with patients, physicians, employees, and guests.
Mornings and afternoon/early evenings. Up to two out of four weekends per month. Eight-hour shifts and some shorter shifts available. Up to 31 hours per two-week pay period.
